FOUR BUILDINGS FOUR EXPERIMENTS

On WHAT KIND of buildings will ROOMS focus its attention?

HOW DOES ONE PARTECIPATE?

  1. Following the Technical Guidelines, the designer collects black and white photographs, uploads the files in the Dropbox folder named after the country or geographical area in which the building is located.
  2. Also, the designer must identify 15 people (who are not architects) who regularly use the building: these people will carry out the online test.
  3. Any architect, student or person interested in taking part in the experiment can send an application to a TEAM members: mail addresses are available on their ROOMs web page.

HOW WILL IT BE CARRIED OUT?

Participants will be asked to observe a computer screen showing photographic images of the interiors of the chosen buildings, and immediately afterwards they will be asked to answer five questions online, in rapid succession, instinctively. All this will happen on a given day, with forewarning, simultaneously. The aim is to assess each participant's emotional reaction and the ability to simulate the architectural interiors selected for the test. The answers will then be stored in a database.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

  1. The interiors must belong to a building that was built in the past five years, and remains in use today; it must belong to one of the four categories featured in the analysis: school rooms, hospital rooms, public assembly rooms and the halls of airports.
  2. People who use the buildings selected for the experiment.
  3. Architecture professionals, students and researchers of every age and nationality, from anywhere in the world.
